At the end of the process carried out under the coordination of the SUBÜ Rectorate and implemented by the Climate Change and Sustainability Application and Research Center, the waste management infrastructure of 17 academic units within the university was brought into compliance with international standards and officially certified.

During the certification process, the existing waste management practices of the units were subjected to a detailed evaluation. Within the scope of the efforts, the necessary technical infrastructure for separating and collecting waste at the source was strengthened. Standard-compliant signage and collection systems were established across all campuses. In addition, participation of students and staff in the process was encouraged through internal awareness activities, thereby increasing awareness of waste separation.
