Building Demolitions Begin as Part of Urban Transformation in Sakarya
Building demolitions have begun in Sakarya as part of the “neighborhood-based urban transformation” project. Transformation works have started in Tığcılar Neighborhood.
The first phase of the urban transformation project, carried out by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the General Directorate of Marmara Urban Transformation, consists of 718 independent units.
Demolition works for the first phase of the urban transformation project are planned to be completed within three months.
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change will begin implementation works at the site simultaneously with the ongoing demolition process.
Following the demolition process, a green, socially oriented and resilient urban environment will rise in place of the buildings along Yeni Cami, Kol and Kadir Hoca Streets and Atatürk Boulevard in Tığcılar Neighborhood.
As part of the project, a brand-new living environment will be created, including modern shops and workplaces, underground and above-ground parking facilities, social facilities, landscaping and green-focused social recreation areas, in addition to residential units.
