Supreme Election Council Overturns Decision to Annul SATSO Elections

A new development has emerged in the appeal process that began following the elections at the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO).
The Supreme Election Council (YSK) reviewed the decision by the Sakarya Provincial Election Board to annul the elections for the chairmanship and board of directors. The Supreme Election Council overturned the provincial board’s annulment decision.
With this ruling, Akgün Altuğ’s position as President of the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been finalized. Following the higher council’s decision to overturn the annulment, the results of the presidential and board of directors elections remain valid.

The YSK annulled the Provincial Election Board’s decision on the grounds of “absolute illegality.” This ruling clears the way for Akgün Altuğ to continue serving as President of the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry. With the YSK’s decision, Akgün Altuğ’s position as Chairman of the SATSO Board of Directors has been officially confirmed.
The reasoning behind the YSK’s decision has not yet been made public. The legal grounds on which the annulment decision was overturned will become clear once the full, reasoned ruling is released.
