SATSO’s Architectural Project Competition Concludes

The Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO) held the colloquium and award ceremony for the Production and Digital Transformation Center Architectural Project Competition.

Organized by SATSO with the aim of shaping the future of Sakarya’s industry today, the project competition for the planned center was completed with a colloquium and award ceremony.

At the event held at the SATSO service building, SATSO Secretary General Şevket Kırıcı delivered a presentation explaining the function of the center, the purpose behind its construction, and the contributions it is expected to make to Sakarya’s industrial sector.

The jury of the competition was chaired by Süheyla Büyükşahin, Head of the Architecture Department at Sakarya University. Other jury members included architect Mehmet Nuralp Paker, Chairman of SATSO’s 18th Professional Committee; Dr. Lecturer Burçin Başyazıcı from the Architecture Department of Yeditepe University; senior architect Hasan Sıtkı Gümüşsoy; and senior architect Burak Pekoğlu. The jury members, who carefully evaluated the projects submitted to the competition, also answered questions and provided clarifications during the colloquium held before the award ceremony.

Highlighting the importance of the project, jury chair Süheyla Büyükşahin stated that the architects had been evaluated with great care and attention.

Architect Mehmet Nuralp Paker, Chairman of SATSO’s 18th Professional Committee, noted that the competition would pave the way for new architectural competitions and similar projects to emerge in Sakarya in the future.

Following the opening speeches by the jury members, an exchange of ideas took place between participating architects and the jury during the colloquium session of the program.

After the colloquium, the award ceremony was held. Architect Hüseyin Toker won first place in the competition, followed by architect Orhan Ersen in second place and architect Miray Vurgun in third place.

Honorable mention awards were granted to architect Emre Demirtaş and architect Zekeriya Doğan.

Awards were presented to the winners by SATSO Vice Chairman of the Board Gökhan Tiryaki and the jury members.
