The Defense, Aerospace and Space Cluster Association (SAHA İstanbul) is set to continue its clustering initiatives in Sakarya. The organization, whose members include firms that produce domestic and national systems and software aiming to eliminate Turkey’s foreign dependency—particularly in defense and aerospace, but also in automotive, rail, maritime, and energy sectors—will focus its clustering efforts in the northern region of Sakarya.

SAHA İstanbul aims to establish a comprehensive industrial network across the Northern Marmara corridor, spanning from Tekirdağ through Istanbul, Kocaeli, Gebze, Sakarya, Yalova, and Düzce. The cluster includes strategic industries such as defense, aerospace, energy, railway systems, shipbuilding, and unmanned aerial vehicles. Its goal is to reduce foreign dependency by promoting local production and innovation.

Sakarya offers a highly attractive investment environment for SAHA İstanbul firms, thanks to its robust transportation infrastructure and proximity to Istanbul. Many companies based in Istanbul are already initiating investment projects in Kaynarca, located in Sakarya’s northern region, within the Eastern Marmara Machinery Manufacturers Specialized Organized Industrial Zone.

The region’s strategic appeal is further enhanced by the operational Karasu Port, transforming Northern Sakarya into a major investment hub. With its established industrial base—producing tanks, passenger wagons, automobiles, tractors, buses, and armored vehicles, along with their sub-industries—Sakarya stands out not only for its industrial capacity but also for its geographic advantage.

Given its dynamic and continually growing investment climate, SAHA İstanbul members are now planning to cluster in Sakarya across the defense, aerospace, automotive, railway, and energy sectors.
