Oral Microbiota Congress to Be Held at Sakarya University

Sakarya University will host the 5th International Dental Oral Infections (DOINF5) Congress and the 4th Oral Microbiota Congress, which will take place on March 27–29, 2026. The congress will be held at the Sabahattin Zaim Conference Hall of the Faculty of Law at Sakarya University.

The congress will be organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Sakarya University, and BİOSAD. The event will address oral and dental infections encountered in dentistry, rational antibiotic use, autoclaves used in dental clinics, sterilization methods, antiseptic solutions, mouthwashes, and the relationship between oral microbiota and clinical diseases within a scientific framework. The congress will also cover effective rational antibiotic use and sterilization/disinfection methods in dental practice, while providing information on dental hygiene, mouthwashes, and oral microbiota.
Prevention and Control of Dental Infections
Topics such as the prevention and control of dental infections, appropriate antibiotic selection, sterilization and disinfection methods in clinics, the use of autoclaves, antiseptic solutions, and mouthwashes will be discussed during the congress. The program will also evaluate the role of artificial intelligence in reducing dental infections, infection control, and assessing the effectiveness of sterilization.
The main themes of the congress have been determined as “Dental Infections and Artificial Intelligence” and “Functional Oral Microbiota.” The congress aims to highlight the importance of oral microbiota and its relationship with clinical diseases, drawing attention to its significance for public health and encouraging further research in this field.

Implant Applications and Complication Management
Supported under the TÜBİTAK Domestic Scientific Event Support Program, the congress will feature expert speakers from Turkey and abroad who will inform participants through conferences and presentations. In addition to dental infections and oral microbiota, current practices in dentistry will also be addressed.
Within the scope of the congress, hands-on professional development courses will be organized. The program will include courses on the following topics: implant applications and complication management; loading protocols in implant treatments and the “anytime” loading concept; botox and filler applications and complication management; temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders from diagnosis to treatment (ultrasound-guided training); the use of blood products in soft and hard tissue applications in clinical practice; effective disinfection in root canal treatment; dental surgical procedures; and suturing techniques.
A scientific paper competition for dentistry students will also be held as part of the congress. Various awards will be given to the top-ranking students. At the end of the congress, a congress book will be prepared and distributed to participants.
