Acting General Manager Ömer Semiz said: “In 2021, Akcoatlauncheditsnew R&D campuswith a strongglobalinvestment of approximately $10 million. Covering a total area of 10,000 squaremeters, ourcampus is one of thelargest R&D centers in Turkey. Thecampusincludesspecializedlaboratoriesforenamel, ceramic, non-stick&decorative, andglasscoatingsandpigments, as well as a characterizationandanalysislabthatenablescomprehensive 360-degree research on materials.”

60 Million TL R&D Investment

Semiz emphasizedthattheyarethe market leader in enamelandceramiccoatings in Turkeyandprovidedthefollowingdetails: “Inthecomingperiod, weaimtoincreaseourglobal market shareandbecometheworldleader. Toachievethis, weallocatemorethan 2% of ourrevenueto R&D andinnovationinvestments. Overthepastfiveyears, our R&D spending has increasedbyapproximately 350%, reaching 60 million TL in 2024.”

Providingfurtherinsightintothetangibleoutcomes of their R&D efforts, Ömer Semiz stated: “Our R&D strength has beenthedrivingforcebehindallouroperationsthroughout 2024. At our R&D campus, 188 R&D projectswererealizedthankstotheefforts of our 30 researchers, including 3 PhDs, 9 PhDcandidates, 11 Master’sgraduates, 4 Master’sstudents, and 3 Bachelor’sgraduates. Wemade 111 patent applicationsandregistered 88 designs. Wealsomaintainedourleadership in scientificknowledgeproductionwith 111 internationalpublicationsandacademicpapers.”
