1,641 Students Gained Work Experience Through the +1 Education Model

Students of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ) took part in the business world once again during the 2025–2026 Academic Year Fall Semester within the scope of the +1 Education Model. Through this model, which is implemented across all departments and programs at every level of education at the university, students spend at least one full academic term working full-time in a workplace, gaining hands-on experience.

Thanks to this system, students are able to plan their careers while continuing their education, receive a salary with government support, and gain the opportunity to secure employment even before graduation. During the Fall Semester, a total of 1,641 students participated in vocational training at companies under the +1 Education Model, including 1,307 associate degree students and 334 undergraduate students.

The total number of companies where students gained workplace experience reached 961, with 401 located in Sakarya and 560 outside the province. Companies that register via https://muys.sabis.subu.edu.tr/ can request full-time student placements. SUBÜ continued to implement the model during the pandemic period as well, maintaining its commitment to providing students with field experience; during that time, 5,134 students were introduced to the business world.
