A cooperation protocol has been signed between the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) and Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality. The signing ceremony took place at Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality with the participation of Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır.
After examining the project, Minister Kacır stated that the planned investment is not merely an exhibition area, but a remarkable project where young people will be directly involved in the processes of “research, development, and production.”
Minister Kacır said:
“As the Ministry of Industry and Technology, together with TÜBİTAK, we will make every effort to equip this remarkable center in the best possible way. This center will not function solely as an exhibition space, but as a facility where all citizens—especially our youth—can benefit from opportunities in research, development, and technology production.”
Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar also made a statement, saying:
“The investment we had previously planned as 3,000 square meters has now begun as a 7,500-square-meter project. Our goal is very ambitious. We aim to establish an incubation center here. We also want to offer laboratory environments to young people. The signature signed today will make very valuable contributions to future generations in the fields of science and technology.”
Science Center

The Science Center, with a total enclosed area of 7,500 square meters, will include exhibition, workshop, event, and training areas. In four permanent and one temporary exhibition halls, more than 220 interactive exhibits on themes such as energy, space, perception, and the history of science will be available to visitors.
Workshops focusing on astronomy, technology, mathematics, and sustainability will cater to all age groups.
In addition, the 500-square-meter Incubation Center within the facility will enable young people, university students, and aspiring entrepreneurs to develop innovative ideas and bring their projects to life.
With science festivals, science-themed competitions, and talks, the Science Center will remain active 365 days a year. As a living center that brings science together with all segments of society, it will make a significant contribution to the city’s educational and scientific infrastructure.
