Sakarya Commodity Exchange Opens New Headquarters

The new headquarters of the Sakarya Commodity Exchange was officially inaugurated in a ceremony attended by prominent government officials, business leaders, and representatives of civil society.
Hosted by Sakarya Commodity Exchange Chairman Mustafa Genç, the opening ceremony was attended by Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB); Gökhan Yazgı, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism; Ergün Atalay, President of TÜRK-İŞ; Rahmi Doğan, Governor of Sakarya; Yusuf Alemdar, Mayor of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality; Akgün Altuğ, Chairman of the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO); members of parliament, district mayors, representatives of public institutions, leaders of non-governmental organizations, and numerous invited guests.

Delivering the opening speech, Mustafa Genç emphasized that Sakarya is one of Türkiye's leading production and trade centers, noting that the new headquarters represents not only a physical investment but also a symbol of the institution's vision for the future.
Genç stated that the Sakarya Commodity Exchange has consistently stood by producers, farmers, and its members, adding that the Exchange has successfully implemented a number of significant projects, particularly in the field of licensed warehousing.
In his address, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu highlighted Sakarya's strength in agriculture, describing the city as one of Türkiye's leading provinces in many sectors.
"Sakarya is an important production center with 126,000 hectares of agricultural land, 43 percent of which is irrigable. The province ranks among Türkiye's leading producers of hazelnuts, corn, quince, and pumpkins. Establishing such a modern service building in a city with such strong agricultural potential is of great importance," he said.
Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar stated that the city serves as a model by developing agriculture, industry, and tourism simultaneously.
"Our city continues to grow through unity and solidarity. Sakarya has tremendous production potential. While advancing our industrial sector, we are also expanding agricultural production. Sakarya is a strong city that contributes to the national economy across every sector," Alemdar said.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı noted that Sakarya is one of Türkiye's most significant cities thanks to its highly qualified human resources.
He also stated that Sakarya has achieved exemplary success in the field of licensed warehousing, setting a benchmark for other regions across Türkiye.
Governor Rahmi Doğan emphasized the strategic importance of agriculture in his speech.
"Above all, Sakarya is an agricultural city. We attach great importance to protecting our agricultural land. Food will be one of the world's greatest strategic assets in the future. While our industry and tourism will certainly continue to develop, we will never neglect the agricultural sector," Doğan said.
