Sapanca Park project enters second phase with August 7 tender

The Sapanca Park Project, one of Sakarya's flagship waterfront development initiatives, is moving into its second phase as the metropolitan municipality prepares to launch a new tender for the expansion of public recreational areas along the shores of Lake Sapanca.
Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar announced that the tender for the 10-kilometer second phase, extending from the first section of the Sapanca shoreline to Serdivan Gölpark, will be held on August 7.
37-kilometer lakeside vision
Alemdar said the municipality aims to make the entire shoreline of Lake Sapanca accessible to the public through a comprehensive development project extending 37 kilometers around the lake.
He noted that the project is designed to transform the waterfront into a continuous public living space while preserving the lake's natural environment.
According to Alemdar, construction has made significant progress on the 6-kilometer corridor in Kırkpınar, where the Metropolitan Municipality's Department of Technical Affairs is carrying out works.
The first phase includes landscaped green areas, scenic lakeside seating sections, and public spaces designed to enhance visitors' experience of one of the region's most important natural attractions.
New recreational and social areas planned
The second phase of the project will preserve the natural character of the lakeshore while introducing new public amenities, including:
Walking paths
Bicycle lanes
Landscape improvements
Recreational areas
Resting points
Social gathering spaces
Once completed, the Sapanca Park Project is expected to create an uninterrupted lakeside recreational corridor, improving public access to Lake Sapanca while supporting tourism, outdoor recreation, and the region's quality of life.
