The Number of International Students at Sakarya University Is Increasing

While international student enrollments have been declining at many universities across Türkiye, Sakarya University has demonstrated a contrasting trend. The university’s new international student registrations for 2025 increased by 56 percent compared to the previous year.

Despite the decrease in international student enrollments at numerous universities in Türkiye, Sakarya University has continued its upward trajectory, strengthening its vision for internationalization.

According to current data, Sakarya University hosts a total of 6,549 international students from 109 different countries. This diversity not only enriches the university’s cultural environment but also enhances the international dimension of academic engagement.

In 2025, 1,682 new international students enrolled at Sakarya University. Of these new enrollments, 196 were in graduate institute programs, while 1,485 were at the undergraduate and associate degree levels. Last year, a total of 1,076 new registrations were recorded. With this significant rise, Sakarya University achieved a notable year-on-year increase of 56 percent in international student admissions.
