The Electric Vehicle Workshop of the SUBÜ Technology Competitions Coordination Office was officially reopened with a ceremony following the renewal of its infrastructure and the expansion of its technical equipment. The workshop will serve as a center for R&D and prototyping processes in electric, autonomous, and hydrogen-powered vehicle projects.

Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ) continues its efforts to elevate its practice-oriented work in next-generation mobility technologies to a higher level.

Established in 2018 and having hosted many award-winning projects to date, the Electric Vehicle Workshop under the Technology Competitions Coordination Office was reopened with a ceremony after the completion of its modernization process.

The opening ceremony was attended by SUBÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sarıbıyık; Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Sinan Serdar Özkan, Prof. Dr. Ali Fuat Boz, and Prof. Dr. Oğuz Türkay; Dean of the Faculty of Technology Prof. Dr. Zafer Tatlı; General Manager of Nehir Technokent Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış Boru; Technology Competitions Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Muhammed Telçeken; as well as academics and students.

Autonomous Vehicles

Since its establishment, the Electric Vehicle Workshop has aimed to provide students with a comprehensive engineering environment where they can experience design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes together. At the workshop, studies are conducted on critical technologies such as battery packaging, power electronics integration, motor drive systems, vehicle control units, and data acquisition infrastructures. With its modernized structure, the workshop now offers students and researchers a world-class working environment.

Within the workshop infrastructure, not only standard electric vehicles but also projects representing future transportation technologies across various segments are being developed. In this context, all stages—from mechanical chassis production to software development—for autonomous (driverless) vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and electric formula cars are carried out under the Technology Competitions Coordination Office. The renewed technical equipment enables testing processes to be conducted in a more systematic and sustainable manner.
