Mayor of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, Yusuf Alemdar, announced that the tender processes have started for the construction of Çamdağı Dam and the transmission lines of Ballıkaya Dam.

Stating that they are producing solutions to Sakarya’s increasing water demand through alternative sources, Mayor Alemdar shared the following information:
“We are strengthening our infrastructure lines and aiming to minimize the water loss rate. Within this scope, in the coming months, we will deliver drinking water without losses to our subscribers with 100 kilometers of infrastructure to be built in Hendek, Akyazı, and Sapanca districts.”
Mayor Alemdar emphasized that with 46 drilling works carried out over the past year, they have created alternative water sources while also reducing the stress on existing resources.
Highlighting the importance of the construction of Ballıkaya Dam transmission lines and Çamdağı Dam for the city, Alemdar stated that the tender process for the Ballıkaya Dam transmission lines will begin shortly.
Regarding the Çamdağı Dam, which will supply drinking water particularly to the northern regions of Sakarya, Alemdar said:
“With its strong infrastructure planned for water storage capacity and transmission lines, Çamdağı Dam will become the main water source for Karasu and Kocaali districts, which are important centers for tourism and agricultural activities in our city. We will hopefully conclude the tender process, which will start with the new year, quickly. The water problems experienced in our northern districts will be permanently solved with the Çamdağı Dam.”
