Sakarya has provided more than TRY 2 billion in financial support to 17,338 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) over the past 23 years, strengthening the city's manufacturing capacity, entrepreneurship ecosystem, and employment, according to AK Party Sakarya Provincial Chairman Yunus Tever.
Speaking after visiting companies operating in Sakarya 1st Organized Industrial Zone (OSB), Tever said the city continues to strengthen its position as one of Türkiye's leading manufacturing and technology centers.
He emphasized that organized industrial zones have become key drivers of Türkiye's industrial production and noted that Sakarya's industrial infrastructure has continued to expand in recent years.

More than TRY 2 billion in SME support
Tever stated that the number of supported SMEs before 2002 had been limited, while substantial public support has since been directed toward entrepreneurship and industrial development.
"During the last 23 years, a total of 17,338 SMEs in Sakarya have received support exceeding TRY 2 billion. These incentives have enabled businesses to expand, encouraged new investments, and contributed significantly to employment growth," he said.
R&D and technology ecosystem expands
Highlighting the city's progress in technology-driven investment, Tever said Sakarya has emerged as one of Türkiye's leading centers for research and innovation with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
According to Tever, the city is currently home to:
25 Research and Development (R&D) Centers
5 Design Centers
2 Technology Parks (Technoparks)
He added that 1,674 investment incentive certificates have been issued to strengthen the local investment climate.
Tever noted that Sakarya Technopark and Nehir Technopark provide important opportunities for entrepreneurs while reinforcing university-industry collaboration and supporting high value-added production.

Organized industrial zones drive economic growth
Tever said organized industrial zones continue to play a leading role in Sakarya's economic development.
"Today, our province has nine Organized Industrial Zones, seven of which are actively engaged in manufacturing. With their strong infrastructure and modern production capabilities, they make significant contributions to industrial growth and the national economy."
He stressed that organized industrial zones are more than clusters of factories.
"They are development hubs that create employment for thousands of people, boost exports, transform technology into production, and offer new opportunities for young people."
According to Tever, Sakarya has made significant progress toward becoming one of Türkiye's major manufacturing centers in sectors including automotive, machinery, metal processing, and food production.
