Sakarya University Ranked 12th Best Research University in Türkiye

Sakarya University has earned the title of “Research University” by placing among the top 20 state universities in Türkiye. The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) announced Sakarya University (SAU) as the 12th highest-performing state university in scientific research.

Following a two-year monitoring and evaluation process carried out by the Council of Higher Education, Sakarya University was elevated to the status of “Research University.” After three years of intensive work by the university administration, SAU ranked 15th at the A2 level in overall research performance and rose to 12th place among state universities.

A Center of Science

With this designation, Sakarya University’s academic staff will expand, and its strengthened laboratory infrastructure and project budgets will grow. Scholarship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate studies will also increase.

This development adds a new “scientific hub” dimension to the city’s established image as a center of natural beauty, tourism, and industry.

Sakarya University, Research University

Research universities are evaluated based on 32 performance indicators, including research capacity, research quality, interaction, and collaboration. Due to its performance in these criteria, Sakarya University was included in the Research University Candidate Monitoring Program last year.

The research university status is determined based on performance and categorized as A1, A2, and A3.
