In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and SASKI, Sakarya's water resources are being secured.
Under the joint project with the General Directorate of Water Management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the future of water resources will be guaranteed, and measures will be taken to ensure uninterrupted service during natural disasters.
The project, which will progress based on continuous sampling and necessary inspections from the sources, will provide significant support to the steps taken by the Metropolitan Municipality to protect Lake Sapanca.
Uninterrupted service during disasters
Evaluating the presentation by the delegation from the General Directorate of Water Management regarding the project, SASKI General Manager Yiğit Turan shared the following information: "Units affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will closely monitor our water resources. For both regular and extraordinary situations in the provincial centers of Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Düzce, technical, legal, and administrative regulations and improvements will be determined to ensure the safety of drinking and utility water from source to tap. In this way, our water resources will be able to fully function even during disaster situations. Based on the experiences gained during the project phase, a national legislative draft regarding water security will be created, and necessary measures for the sustainability of water resources will be determined."
