New production areas to be created for SMEs in Sakarya

Akgün Altuğ, President of the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO), announced that they plan to make Organized Industrial Zones more attractive for SMEs. Speaking at the chamber’s assembly meeting, Altuğ stated that they are working on an alternative model that is more feasible and capable of delivering faster results.

Noting that they had previously planned a specialized Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) for SMEs but realized that it is not currently feasible under existing conditions, Altuğ said:

“This does not mean that we have stepped back from our goal of creating production areas for our SMEs. On the contrary, we are working on an alternative model that we can implement more easily and obtain quicker results from. In this context, we are planning to allocate the smallest-scale parcels within the Kaynarca Machinery Specialized OSB and the Ferizli Metal Specialized OSB to our SMEs, each with a size of approximately 3,000 square meters. This size offers a balanced solution in two respects: it will not put a financial strain on SMEs, and it will provide sufficient space for them to sustain their production activities. We aim to create an environment where our SMEs can grow and thrive. Our goal is to establish a balanced, accessible, and sustainable model. In the upcoming period, we plan to collect demand from our members. Based on the demand structure, we will clarify the allocation process and move forward quickly. Regardless of the circumstances, we will continue to take determined steps to strengthen the production capacity of our SMEs.”
