Sakarya is one of Türkiye’s key production centers

Delivering the opening speech, SATSO Chairman of the Board Akgün Altuğ stated that Sakarya, with its main industrial sectors, strong supplier network, and export infrastructure, is one of Türkiye’s most important production hubs.

Highlighting that organized industrial zones contribute significantly to both the economic and social life of Sakarya, Altuğ emphasized that employment, added value, and development are driven by organized industrial zones.

SOMİOSB is being designed as a green OIZ

Akgün Altuğ continued:

“As we produce, Sakarya will grow; as Sakarya grows, Türkiye will become stronger. In this direction, SOMİOSB—which will elevate Sakarya’s production capacity and connect the automotive and metal sectors with new technologies—will be a strategic industrial investment and a model for both our province and our country. SOMİOSB is being designed as a green OIZ with pre-planned infrastructure, strong transportation and logistics connections, environmental compatibility, high value-added production, and technology-focused operations. This structure will play an important role in our exports. The organized industrial zone gained legal entity status in 2022, and the expropriation process began in 2023. The expropriation procedures were completed by 90% in as little as eight months.”
