Making a general assessment of the announced export figures, Chairman Altuğ noted that despite the challenges of 2025, Sakarya continued to increase its exports.

Chairman Altuğ shared the following information:

“In 2025, Sakarya recorded exports worth USD 5.9 billion. Including free zones, the Sakarya business community exported to 155 countries worldwide in 2025. The top five sectors in our exports during 2025 were, respectively, the automotive industry; iron and non-ferrous metals; chemicals; steel and steel products; and machinery and components. We maintained our success as Türkiye’s fourth-largest automotive exporting province. In addition, when sectoral rankings are considered, Sakarya ranked among the top 10 exporting provinces in four sectors and among the top 20 in twelve sectors. With the reciprocal Ro-Ro services launched between the ports of Karasu and Constanța, our exports to Romania continue to increase month by month. Moreover, our exports to France, Spain, Czechia, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt drew attention with very significant increases both in percentage terms and in dollar value. In December, we recorded increases of 100 percent or more to 25 countries and increases of 50 percent or more to 10 countries. Compared to the same period of the previous year, we increased our exports to a total of 50 destinations in December. In 2025, Sakarya succeeded in increasing its exports to 82 countries compared to 2024. The greatest driving force of our country’s growth should be exports, not consumption.”
