Applications Open for Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality’s Idea Competition

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality has launched applications for the new term of its Idea Competition, designed under the Young Participation Project Workshop to enable the new generation to shape the city’s future. Those who produce the best ideas or projects will be awarded the Sakarya Urbanism Award.

Applications for the 2025-2026 term of the annual idea competition are now open on the portal www.sakarya.bel.tr.

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Idea Competition

The 4th edition of the competition, organized under the Sakarya Digital Governance Office, will be held with the motto “Produce, Decide, Implement,” enabling young people to contribute to the governance of the city with their projects and valuable ideas.

Applications are online

The competition will be held in six categories: “Food, Environment and Water Management, Architecture and Urban Design, Transportation and Urban Mobility, Youth, Sports and Culture, Social Services, and Digitalization.”

Young people aged 15-30 can submit multiple projects individually, as a group, initiative, platform, or club. Applications will remain open until April 10, 2026.

Sakarya Urbanism Award

Project ideas submitted by young people for the future of the city will go through a preliminary evaluation before being reviewed by the jury. The winning project will be selected, and the results will be announced on May 4.

The first-place winner will receive the “Sakarya Urbanism” award along with a cash prize of 30,000 TL. Additionally, every project that takes part in the citizen voting will be granted a participation incentive award of 10,000 TL.
