Sakarya University has taken an important step in sustainability by ensuring that all of its campuses receive the Zero Waste Certificate.
With the Faculty of Dentistry becoming eligible for the “Basic Level Zero Waste Certificate,” all university campuses—including Esentepe Campus, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Vocational School of Health Services—have now been certified under the Zero Waste Management System.
The Zero Waste Certificate is issued by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change to institutions that meet the required criteria.
In line with the goals of the National Zero Waste Project, Sakarya University continues to systematically expand waste reduction, on-site waste separation, deposit-return systems, recycling efforts, and awareness activities across its campuses. In this context, the necessary infrastructure was established in all units, processes were standardized, and the required criteria for certification were successfully met.
The Zero Waste Management System has been certified across all campuses.
Sakarya University continues to contribute to Türkiye’s green transformation process by strengthening its practices that reduce waste generation, improve resource efficiency, and promote recycling in line with its sustainable university goals.
