Construction has begun on the Sapanca Park Project, planned for the shores of Lake Sapanca, with a groundbreaking ceremony held in Kırkpınar. The project, featuring 100,000 square meters of green space and an environmentally friendly design, will create a new living area for the region while preserving the lake’s natural texture.

Carried out with the support of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, the Sapanca Park Project will be built in full harmony with nature, without interfering with the lake’s shoreline. The project will be implemented without any landfilling, using a dry wall system to preserve the lake’s water and air circulation. All construction materials will be recyclable and selected in accordance with ecological standards.

The first phase of the project has started along the 6-kilometer section between Kırkpınar and Sapanca. The total investment value of the project is 150 million TL. Within the scope of the project, there will be walking and cycling paths, wooden piers, rest areas, children’s playgrounds, cafés, and social facilities. The new architectural texture, featuring wooden materials, will blend seamlessly with the natural beauty of Lake Sapanca.

100,000 Square Meters of Ecological Space for Sapanca

Within the project, 37,000 square meters of green space will be created along the lakefront using hydroseeding technology. In addition, ecological landscaping will be carried out over a 100,000-square-meter area, and more than 1,000 mature trees will be planted across 1 million square meters. Of the 37-kilometer route, 26 kilometers lie within Sakarya’s borders and 11 kilometers within Kocaeli’s.
