To Host Opera Performances

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar shared the following details:

“With this center, where a wide range of events such as theater, concerts, congresses, exhibitions, and workshops will be organized, we aim to position Sakarya more strongly in the field of culture and arts. The design process for the investment to be built on the former AFA site—demolished in 2016 due to being earthquake-unsafe—has been completed, and the project has entered the tender phase. The new AFA will feature a main conference hall with a seating capacity of 1,000 people and a total construction area of 12,000 square meters with multifunctional usage spaces. The center will include an underground parking garage, spacious foyer areas, multipurpose halls, classrooms, workshops, artists’ dressing and rehearsal rooms, and technical units. An orchestra pit will also be included in the project, allowing the venue to host opera performances.”
