A "Working at Heights Training" program was organized by the Occupational Health and Safety Coordination Office of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ).
The one-day training program was conducted through both theoretical and practical sessions with the aim of strengthening the occupational health and safety culture among personnel and reducing potential risks in the field.
The training was led by Dr. Murat Şen, a Working at Heights Instructor (IRATA Level 1) and faculty member, together with Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator Serap Karakoç.
During the theoretical sessions, participants were informed about legal regulations and responsibilities, hazard analysis, risk assessment, emergency planning, and emergency response scenarios that may arise in the workplace.
The training also covered topics such as the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe attachment methods to lifelines, technical knot applications, safe movement on working-at-height platforms, safety rules for working on ladders, and rescue planning for working at heights.

Strengthening Occupational Health and Safety at SUBÜ
Following the theoretical sessions, participants had the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice during hands-on training exercises.
They carried out practical activities related to safe working procedures, equipment usage, and intervention techniques for working at heights.
In a statement issued by the SUBÜ Occupational Health and Safety Coordination Office, it was emphasized that practical occupational health and safety training programs would continue to be conducted periodically throughout the university in order to strengthen the culture of safe working and support the goal of achieving zero workplace accidents.
