Work begins for railway transportation between Adapazarı and Hendek

Work has started to establish a railway network on the Adapazarı–Hendek line. Making a statement on the matter, Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar said that the first step has been taken by the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments and that the project tender for the railway line to be constructed has been completed.

He stated that following the tender, the project for the line will be designed and then included in the investment program.

Mayor Yusuf Alemdar emphasized that they are planning Sakarya’s transportation future not with a single line but with a strong and integrated system, aiming to create a transportation network where every citizen—no matter where they are in the city—can reach the city center quickly, comfortably, and safely.

Adapazarı–Serdivan Tram Line

Mayor Alemdar said:

“We have put ADARAY into service and introduced the metrobus to our city. On April 24, we will hold the construction tender for the Adapazarı–Serdivan Tram Line, which our city has been waiting for many years. Now, in addition to this, we are also adding the Adapazarı–Hendek railway line, which will connect our eastern axis to the city center. The project tender for the railway line to be established between Adapazarı and Hendek has been completed by the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The project for the line will be prepared, and following the necessary steps, the process for inclusion in the investment program will begin.”
