TÜRASAŞ to Contribute 3.5 Billion TL Annually to the Economy

When Türkiye’s first National High-Speed Train Factory, whose establishment works are ongoing in Sakarya, becomes operational, it is expected to contribute approximately 3.5 billion TL annually to the economy. The new factory will manufacture Türkiye’s first domestically designed and produced Electric High-Speed Train sets, capable of reaching speeds of up to 225 kilometers per hour. The facility, which will position Sakarya as a prominent center in rail systems technology, is being built on a total enclosed area of 17,000 square meters.

National Electric High-Speed Train Set Manufacturing and Testing Factory

AK Party Sakarya Provincial Chairman Yunus Tever, MKYK Member Abdurrahman Akyüz, and Serdivan District Chairman Yusuf Haldızoğlu visited the Sakarya Regional Directorate of TÜRASAŞ (Türkiye Rail System Vehicles Industry Inc.). As part of the visit, Yunus Tever conducted inspections at the National Electric High-Speed Train Set Manufacturing and Testing Factory, which is currently under construction, and toured the production lines with TÜRASAŞ Regional Director Yunus Ekşi, receiving information about ongoing projects. Tever stated that this major investment would make significant contributions to both local employment and the national economy.Noting that construction works are progressing rapidly, Tever emphasized that the facility will play a critical and strategic role in Türkiye’s domestic and national production initiative.

12 High-Speed Train Sets Per Year

At the new factory, Türkiye’s first domestically produced Electric High-Speed Train sets, capable of reaching speeds of 225 kilometers per hour, will be manufactured. Once the facility reaches full capacity, it is aimed to carry out the production and testing of 12 high-speed train sets annually.Emphasizing that the project is not only a technological breakthrough but also a strong economic development initiative, Tever made the following remarks:

“This factory, which has been realized entirely with domestic and national resources, will provide new employment opportunities for approximately 250 of our citizens. Once production activities begin, it will add around 3.5 billion TL in value to our national economy annually.”
