Turkey’s Top Cyclists to Hold Training Camp in Sakarya

Barcelona, Spain, Turkey’s top cyclists will enter a training camp in Sakarya and compete in the National Team selection trials.
The event will take place at the Ayçiçeği Bicycle Valley, regarded as one of the most modern and comprehensive cycling facilities in Europe. Athletes will not only compete for a place on the national team but also continue their preparations for upcoming international championships.
Hosted by Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality and coordinated by the Turkish Cycling Federation, the National Team selection trials will be held on Sunday, March 29, at Ayçiçeği Bicycle Valley. A total of 37 athletes will participate in the trials, including 27 in the Elite Men category and 10 in the Elite Women category. The races will be held between 13:00 and 16:00.
European and World Cup
In addition to this major event, Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality is continuing its preparations at full speed for the Eliminator European Championship to be held on June 7 and the MTB Eliminator World Cup races scheduled for June 14.
Orhan Bayraktar, Head of the Youth and Sports Services Department, expressed his satisfaction with Ayçiçeği Bicycle Valley hosting such an important selection event and stated:
“It is extremely valuable for us that the National Team selection trials ahead of the UCI MTB Eliminator World Championship to be held in Barcelona on April 18 will take place in Sakarya. We will host Turkey’s top athletes in our city. With its high standards, Ayçiçeği Bicycle Valley continues to be one of the key centers for national and international organizations. In addition, we are meticulously continuing our preparations for the Eliminator European Championship on June 7 and the MTB Eliminator World Cup on June 14.”
