A cooperation protocol covering education, internships, career development, and R&D has been signed between Sakarya University and the Automotive Suppliers Association of Turkey (TAYSAD).
The protocol was signed by Sakarya University Rector Prof. Dr. Hamza Al and TAYSAD Vice Chairman of the Board Berke Ercan. Bülent Yazıcı, Treasurer of the TAYSAD Board of Directors, also attended the signing ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sakarya University Rector Prof. Dr. Hamza Al emphasized the importance of connecting students with industry representatives. He stated that universities should not only generate knowledge but also share it with society and especially with the industry. He said:
"We at Sakarya University operate with this mindset and value enabling our students to engage with the industry before graduation. This protocol is a concrete example of the bridge established between the business world and academia. These collaborations have significantly contributed to the increase in applied projects carried out at the university. When we bring together sector representatives and our academics, the resulting projects add value both to our students and to the industrial strength of our country.”
Project Duration: 1 Year
Under the protocol, Sakarya University students will have the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge in the automotive and automotive supply sectors through practical experience. Students will be encouraged to engage directly with industry representatives, get to know the sector through internships and hands-on training, and gain experience before graduation.
The collaboration offers a comprehensive framework that includes not only training and seminars but also joint R&D projects, certification programs, and employment opportunities. The protocol aims to establish a strong foundation of cooperation between TAYSAD member companies and Sakarya University students.
The protocol will be valid for one year, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement of the parties. During the collaboration, student safety, data privacy, and compliance with the academic calendar will be upheld as fundamental principles.
