Sakarya has continued its strong export performance, recording $487.4 million in exports in June.
During the first six months of the year, the city's total exports reached $2.7 billion, allowing Sakarya to maintain its position as Turkey's seventh-largest exporting province.
In June, the Automotive Industry remained the leading export sector, followed by Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals, Steel, Machinery and Components, and Chemicals and Chemical Products. Of Turkey's 25 main export sectors, 11 increased their exports during the month. Particularly notable were the percentage and value-based gains recorded in the Machinery and Components, Steel, Furniture, Paper and Forest Products, Electrical and Electronics, and Fruit and Vegetable Products sectors.
Including exports from free zones, Sakarya exported to 111 destinations worldwide in June 2026. Spain, France, Poland, Italy, and the United Kingdom ranked as the city's top five export markets.
Exports to Spain, France, Romania, the Czech Republic, and Greece recorded significant increases in both percentage terms and export value compared with the same period of the previous year.
