Sakarya Beaches Complete Season Without Loss of Life
The Lifeguard Team entrusted with ensuring the safety of swimmers along Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality’s northern beaches completed the 105-day summer season with zero fatalities.
The teams, stationed at a total of 46 lifeguard towers in Karasu, Kocaali and Kaynarca, kept the entire 54-kilometer Black Sea coastline under continuous surveillance.
Monitoring the sea constantly from the lifeguard towers, the teams reached areas where incidents occurred within seconds during high-risk situations.
The 75-member Lifeguard Team responded rapidly to emergencies with 7 jet skis, 1 Zodiac boat and 2 ATVs.
Operating along the 54-kilometer Black Sea coastline in Karasu, Kocaali and Kaynarca, the 75-member team intervened in 389 drowning incidents and reunited 110 lost children with their families.
