Maden Deresi, is being transformed into a tourism center

The works initiated by the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality in Maden Deresi, one of the

city’s most valuable natural areas for centuries and declared a "qualified natural protection area" in 2019, have been completed. As part of the project, the Department of Parks and Gardens carried out comprehensive work on areas that posed safety risks to visitors.

To ensure safe and comfortable access in hazardous sections of Maden Deresi, where the

municipality launched a recreation project, a steel construction staircase, walking paths,

and a large viewing terrace were built.

The security level was increased in the 500-meter section at the entrance of the natural

area. A 120-meter-long steel staircase has been completed.

Additionally, a steel walking path has been constructed over a 1.5-kilometer section further

along the trail. This project is expected to make a significant contribution to Sakarya’s

tourism industry.
