Cancan, aims to strengthen its position in the U.S. market

Founded in 1958 for the purpose of manufacturing juice extractors and repairing kitchen appliances, Cancan is expanding its goals with the vision of third-generation management. The company, established by Salih Özüuğurlu in Ankara, is planning new investments in Sakarya, where it relocated in 2000. With these new investments, Cancan will also increase its production capacity and aims to complete the construction of its new factory in the Ferizli Organized Industrial Zone by the end of 2025.

Providing information about the company’s production and future plans, Cancan Fruit Presses Industry’s Deputy General Manager, Nihan Özüuğurlu, emphasized that they continue to grow with a strong R&D and engineering team, stating that their main goal is to become stronger in the U.S. market.

Özüuğurlu mentioned that they have successfully become a sought-after brand in global markets by exporting 55% of their 70 industrial kitchen products, which include fruit juice equipment, washing equipment, and preparation equipment in three different product categories. She added: “We export to 65 countries, primarily Russia and Europe. We’ve also exported to China. Entering the Chinese market with our fruit press machines was a significant achievement for us. We started exporting to the U.S. in 2019 as well. Entering both the U.S. and Chinese markets shows that our products are of high quality, excellent design, and efficiency, proving ourselves in the market. Considering global developments, we’ve shifted our focus more towards the U.S. market. From 2024 onward, we aim to become stronger in the U.S. market. As a result of our investments in cutting and slicing equipment, we will continue to increase our effectiveness and brand awareness in all our target markets with nearly 40 product varieties for cutting, chopping, and slicing a variety of fruits and vegetables. We are also planning to produce and launch the motorized vegetable and fruit slicing machine, which we have been working on for a long time, by the end of 2024.”

Glanz, Our New Brand

Özüuğurlu, who said, “We strive to add innovations to our business and products,” emphasized that they always define their production and management strategies in the long term. She also mentioned that the steps and investments they have taken to become a brand have elevated the Cancan brand to a significant position both domestically and internationally.

Focusing on local production with their own designs, Özüuğurlu continued: “We have accomplished difficult tasks and innovations in our industry. We produce products that are hard to manufacture in Turkey and are highly needed in kitchens, as a result of our R&D efforts, and we are achieving firsts. In 2007, we were the first to produce automatic fruit presses in Turkey. We also produced the first automatic can opener that can open square cans. Another product we’ve been working on for a long time, the motorized vegetable and fruit slicing machine, will be produced and launched by the end of 2024. On the other hand, we’ve taken the first step with a brand named Glanz, where we will produce professional kitchen tools. The Glanz brand will focus on products for the kitchenware sector. Our first product, a croissant cutting knife, was produced as a result of our own design, ergonomic considerations, and R&D work. The serrated knife, with its unique tooth structure, angles, and design, is patented by us and manufactured using the best raw materials with high quality. We will also export the knives we have launched in the domestic market.”
