Accreditation Certificates Presented to SUBÜ Faculty of Tourism

The accreditation certificates were officially presented to the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department and the Tourism Guidance Department of the Faculty of Tourism at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ), after both departments received full six-year accreditation from the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK).
The certificate presentation ceremony was held at the rectorate building of SUBÜ. The event was attended by SUBÜ Rector Mehmet Sarıbıyık, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Türkay, Faculty of Tourism Dean Prof. Dr. Serkan Şengül, Head of the Tourism Guidance Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ümit Şengel, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Saraç and Dr. Lecturer Oğuz Çolak.

Representing TURAK at the ceremony were Emrah Özkul and Prof. Dr. Selda Uca Karacabey, Head of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department.
Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department
The accreditation certificate for the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department was presented by Prof. Dr. Emrah Özkul to Prof. Dr. Serkan Şengül, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Head of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department.
The accreditation certificate for the Tourism Guidance Department was presented by Prof. Dr. Selda Uca Karacabey to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ümit Şengel, Head of the department.
Speaking at the ceremony, SUBÜ Rector Mehmet Sarıbıyık stated that accreditation is one of the most important indicators of quality assurance in higher education. He emphasized that the university places great importance on accreditation processes in order to make educational quality sustainable and provide students with a stronger academic foundation.

Previously, the Tourism Management Department of SUBÜ’s Faculty of Tourism had also been accredited by TURAK. With the successful completion of the accreditation process for the Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, and Tourism Guidance departments, preparations are now continuing for the accreditation of the Recreation Management Department.
