605 New Companies Established in Sakarya in Seven Months

Akgün Altuğ, President of the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO), said that 605 new companies were established in Sakarya during the first seven months of 2026. Altuğ stated that this figure was 544 in the same period last year, representing an 11% increase to 605. He also described the decline in the number of companies that closed during the same period, from 107 to 96, as a positive development.
Altuğ said similar activity was observed among sole proprietorships, noting that 180 new businesses were established in the first seven months, compared with 152 during the same period last year.
President Altuğ also stated that employment figures in Sakarya had increased, with 17,037 people placed in jobs through İŞKUR during the first seven months of 2026. He said this represented a 4.2% increase compared with the same period last year, while the number of women placed in jobs increased by 7.3%, youth employment placements rose by 2.5%, and employment placements for people with disabilities increased by 8.6%.
