SAMİB to Accelerate High Value-Added Production in Sakarya

Fatih Kar, Chairman of the Sakarya Machinery Manufacturers Association (SAMİB), stated that Sakarya is advancing on its path to becoming an important production hub in the machinery sector.

He emphasized that with its demographic structure, economic strength, cultural diversity, and level of development, Sakarya serves as a true reflection of Turkey and, with its growing industry, directly contributes to the country’s economic development.

Founded in 2010, the Sakarya Machinery Manufacturers Association has made major contributions both to Sakarya and to the machinery sector as Turkey’s first city-based machinery cluster.

Kar highlighted that since its establishment, SAMİB has inspired many clustering models in Turkey through its initiatives and projects.

He added:

“Through its exemplary work, SAMİB was awarded the ‘Excellent Cluster’ recognition by ESCA (European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis). It has carried out numerous initiatives for the machinery sector. In May of this year, we organized a Machinery Summit under the theme of ‘Value-Added Manufacturing.’ During the summit, we adopted our motto as KADİM Sakarya (The Center of Value-Added Manufacturing Sakarya). The strength we draw from our history supports this vision.Ahead of the summit, we organized five different workshops to prepare the roadmap for value-added manufacturing, which we shared with participants. We firmly believe that the true prosperity of our country can only be achieved through value-added manufacturing. All our efforts aim to advance both our city and our nation along this path. We know that this path will not only be built with machines, factories, and technologies, but also with the spirit of an ecosystem. The roadmap we have prepared for Sakarya is, in fact, the roadmap for all of Turkey. Because we know that the only way to a fairer, more prosperous, and stronger Turkey lies in value-added production. Our entire endeavor is to illuminate this path and carry our country into the future. For a stronger and wealthier Turkey, the only way is value-added production. On this path, we say KADİM Sakarya, because we know that KADİM Sakarya also means KADİM Turkey.”
