Sakarya’s Export Surplus Reaches 1.149 Billion Dollars in 9 Months

In October, exports worth 699 million dollars were made from Sakarya.
According to the foreign trade data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) for September, Sakarya continues to be a city with a foreign trade surplus.
In September as well, exports from Sakarya exceeded imports, resulting in a foreign trade surplus of 1.149 billion dollars in the first nine months of 2025.
Between January and October 2025, the total export volume of the city approached 4.8 billion dollars, allowing Sakarya to maintain its position as the 7th largest exporting city in Turkey.
In October, the top five export sectors of Sakarya were: 1. Automotive industry 2. Ferrous and non-ferrous metals 3. Machinery and equipment 4. Steel 5. Chemicals and chemical products Sakarya increased its exports in 15 sectors compared to the previous year. Significant growth was recorded particularly in Jewelry, Tobacco, Leather and Leather

Products, and Ornamental Plants and Products
In October, exports from Sakarya—including free zones—reached 114 destinations around the world.
The top five export destinations were Poland, France, Germany, Spain, and Romania. President of the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO), Akgün Altuğ, stated that Sakarya continues to increase its export performance.
He said: “October was a month when we broke new records in exports. For two consecutive months, we have been surpassing our monthly export records. Considering the challenging conditions our exporters face in global competition, these increases make us truly pleased.”
